We collect only the information we need to run Alvro safely and well, and we treat it like we’d want our own data treated. This notice spells out what that means in detail.

Scope of this notice

This Privacy Notice describes how Alvro, Inc. collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our website, mobile apps, and services. It applies to renters, hosts, waitlist subscribers, and visitors to the platform.

Information we collect

Information you provide. Name, email, phone number, U.S. state, date of birth, driver’s license details, government ID, payment information, vehicle details (if you list a car), messages, reviews, and any other information you submit — including when you join our waitlist.

Information collected automatically. Device identifiers, IP address, browser type, app version, pages viewed, search queries, approximate location, and cookies / similar technologies described in our Cookie Notice.

Information from third parties. Identity verification results, driving-record reports, payment-fraud signals, and information from social logins you choose to connect.

Waitlist & SMS messaging

When you join the Alvro waitlist, we collect your email address, your U.S. state, and — only if you choose to provide it — your mobile phone number. We use this information to notify you when Alvro becomes available in your area and to send you occasional launch updates.

If you provide a phone number and give your express consent, you agree to receive a one-time SMS text message from Alvro at that number around the time we launch in your area. This is not a recurring or automated marketing program. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by emailing support@alvro.com. Reply HELP for help. We do not sell or share your phone number, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Your consent to receive a text is not a condition of joining the waitlist or of any future purchase.

We keep a record of your consent — including the exact disclosure shown to you and the date and time you agreed — as proof of opt-in, and we retain it as long as needed to operate the waitlist and meet our legal obligations.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Alvro platform.
• Verify identities, perform driving-record and fraud checks, and maintain trust and safety.
• Process bookings, payments, payouts, and tax reporting.
• Communicate with you about trips, account activity, waitlist status, and customer support.
• Send marketing communications, including waitlist and launch notices, with your consent or where permitted by law.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and crime.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

How we share information

We share personal information with:

• Other users as needed to facilitate a trip (e.g., your name and photo are shown to your host).
• Service providers for payment processing, ID verification, customer support, hosting, analytics, and communications (including the messaging vendor that delivers our texts and emails).
• Insurance partners to administer protection plans and process claims.
• Law enforcement and authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
• Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Notice.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account (or waitlist subscription) is active and as needed to provide our services, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, comply with legal obligations, and prevent fraud. Trip, payment, and tax records are retained for at least seven years.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information — including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security testing. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain uses such as direct marketing. To exercise these rights, visit your account settings or email support@alvro.com.

California residents: You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete that information, to correct inaccuracies, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Children

Alvro is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will announce material changes at least 30 days before they take effect through the app, email, or this page.
